Blake Lively on a superhero " The green Lantern is a unique superhero because it's not that he's super that is his focus; it's that he's a man. He's very human. That's his greatest strength and his greatest weakness."

It is rare that we celebrate humanness as a super hero trait. We think more of traits that lie outside of human capability yet, emotions like compassion and justice are often the motivators of the superhero. Is there a pre-set desire to do good, get the bad guys and rescue the harmed within us? If so, where did it come from?

How can his greatest strength be his greatest weakness? When we are too compassionate, does it make us weak somehow?

I love that Blake is so insightful about a man that focuses on being 'a man' and being human, it is very revealing of the things she values.

Angelina says: "I've realized that being happy is a choice. You never want to rub anybody the wrong way or not be fun to be around, but you have to be happy. When I get logical and I don't trust my instincts - that's when I get in trouble."

We hear this idea a lot about of choosing to be happy and it is echoed by this brainy beauty, Angelina Jolie. What does this mean? How do we change our mind and decide to be happy? Is it within our own reach?

It would seem she is suggesting the traps that can side line us or trade us off our own happiness. It is revealing that she cares about "rubbing anyone the wrong way" or "not being fun to be around".  More importantly she seems to urge us to keep our own happiness in the forefront.

Instincts rule the day, trusting them seem to be the choice before us she suggests. Those instincts are the guiding force in discerning how to be happy. Good advise.

Why would a beautiful woman make such a strong statement on where she feels beauty truly resides?

Perhaps in an industry that would only judge from the surface, she is sharing a deeper wisdom and knowing from a personal point of view.
